Are custom keyboards QC'd at Deskhero?Updated 15 days ago
Some high end keyboards are shrink wrapped and/or packages are sealed. In this case Deskhero is unable to look at every keyboard for inspection and will defer to the original manufacturer Quality Control Guidelines.
Some keyboard kits would need to be put together by our staff and if possible, we will look at the keyboard specifically and determine if the keyboard falls into an "A- (Minus) or B Stock" classification.
A Stock
- No major blemishes, scratches, dents, markings on TOP and SIDE FACES greater than 3 x 3 mm in diameter or length on the custom keyboard case visible under fully assembled state:
- The faces/exterior surfaces of the keyboard included under this clause are the sections of the top, left side, right side, front side, rear side, and bottom faces which remain visible once assembled
- Structure assembles properly
- Keyboard functions properly
Flaws acceptable on an A-stock unit include the following, but are not limited to:
- Any internal flaws such as anodizing streaks, machining marks, and scratches, provided they do not impact the functionality of the unit:
- The faces covered in this criterion include those covered and hidden after full assembly such as the inner faces of the case top half and plate surfaces
- Small imperfections under the size outlined above
- Variances in anodizing and finish color
- Micro-scratches on external mirror-polished surfaces
- Imperfections on exterior components not custom-produced for the keyboard, such as screws and rubber feet, which do not affect the functionality of the unit
- Imperfections to components which are not part of the keyboard itself upon assembly, such as packaging and included tools
Any unit we ship out without a grade explicitly stated is inherently sold as A-stock.
A- (Minus) Stock
- There exists at least one blemish, scratch, dent, mark on SIDE FACE of the keyboard > 1mm on the SIDE FACE of the keyboard
B Stock
- There exists at least one blemish, scratch, dent, mark on TOP FACE of the keyboard > 1mm on any of the SIDE FACES of the keyboard
Notes
- If a unit is found to be lesser than the grade marked for sale, clear evidence of the offending criteria must be provided. Deskhero reserves the right to make decisions accepting or rejecting the given claims of quality.
- Internal marks, blemishes, scratches, dents are not counted towards grade classification, unless it impedes functionality or is visible once the keyboard is fully built from normal operating distance under normal lighting conditions.
